Grain-Free Pie Crust
(gluten-free, egg-free, refined sugar-free)
2 1/2 cups of almond flour
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1 tablespoon warm water
3 tablespoons of ghee, melted
3 tablespoons of maple syrup (warmed or room temperature)
1 teaspoon of sea salt
Preheat oven to 350
In a food processor, add the sea salt, almond flour, and shredded coconut until finely ground
Add in the ghee, warm water, and maple syrup next and blend until dough and coarse crumbs start to form.
Transfer dough to a greased 9-inch pie plate or tart pan.
Evenly press the dough on the bottom and sides.
Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown and firm.
Allow the crust to cool before using it for your next recipe.
For a dairy-free version (although ghee is considered dairy-free), you can replace with coconut oil or coconut butter
For a nut-free version, cassava flour may work as well!
